Studies show that adequate solutions impact the nutrition of broilers and increase feed conversion

According to the Apinco Poultry Science and Technology Foundation, in 2020, approximately 6,824,540 billion chickens were produced in 2020, which means 10,947.2 million tons of meat. Also according to the survey, the average weight per chicken at slaughter is 3.2 kg, with a total feed consumption of 36.4 million ton and feed conversion between 1.6 and 1.65.

But believe me, these numbers could be higher with the use of adsorbent biotechnology. A meta analysis, conducted by Professor Andretta et al 2021, of 1,401 diets and more than 37 million broilers, demonstrated that the presence of mycotoxins in poultry diets significantly reduced (P < 0.05) in weight gain (-14% ) and feed conversion (+7%).

This reality is experienced from the inside, with the various problems experienced in the daily life of the farms. The result is an increase in the mortality rate, economic losses related to the low productive performance of the birds, an increase in the food conversion, losses in yield and carcass quality, and also the drop in egg production due to embryonic mortality when we talk about laying.

“Poultry farming coexists with the problem of mycotoxins, but it is important to emphasize that there are efficient alternatives to mitigate these production challenges”, points out Technical Director Yes, Carlos Ronchi, adding the positive impact of adsorbents. Composed of carefully selected products that combine active phosphorylated β-glucans (extracted from the cell wall of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae), enzymatically microparticulated, polycationic bentonite, activated charcoal, organic molecule, organic selenium and milk thistle extract (Silimarin), the line Yes- Fix adsorbs these elements that harm animal performance and also contributes to the maintenance of intestinal integrity.

A care that values not only animal welfare, but the profitability of the herd and the safety of the food that reaches the end consumer's table, given that mycotoxins are harmful not only to animals, but also to their consumers. “This is an aspect to consider about the positive impact of Yes-Fix: its use in feed partially neutralizes these metabolites, decreasing their deposition in meat, milk, eggs, etc., reducing the risk of human consumption”, emphasizes Ronchi.

About Yes

Yes, a biotechnology company in animal nutrition, develops and produces nutritional additives such as mycotoxin adsorbents, prebiotics, organic minerals, blends and yeast derivatives with the objective of improving the performance and health of animals. All products comply with the strictest laws in world markets such as the United States and Europe. Founded in 2008, Yes has a head office in Campinas/SP, four production plants, one in Lucélia/SP, one in Novo Horizonte/SP, one in Borá/SP and one in Conceição da Barra/ES, a center for Logistics and Distribution in Lucélia/SP, another in Cascavel/PR, in addition to the opening, in 2020, of a new DC located in Mexico. It operates throughout Brazil, in addition to exporting to over 37 countries, being present in Latin America, Europe, Africa, Oceania and Asia. Since 2016 the company has been part of the investee portfolio of the Aqua Capital investment fund.
