Yes manages to complex selenium, making a link between the inorganic mineral and amino acids

The company carried out an experiment measuring the effectiveness of Yes organic seleniums (organic selenium complex) in relation to the main competitors in the market

Reduced glutathione is dependent on Selenium to be activated and fight free radicals in the form of glutathione peroxidase

There is a market assertion that it is not possible to complex Selenium, and that for this element to be organic it needs to go through a primary fermentation process with biosynthesis. But Yes, a company that develops biotechnological solutions for effective, safe and sustainable animal nutrition, manages to complex Selenium in its production, making a link between the inorganic mineral and amino acids.

To prove its achievement, Yes carried out an experiment measuring the effectiveness of Yes organic Seleniums (organic Selenium complex) in relation to the main competitors in the market. Oral bioavailability and hepatic dosage of enzymes, reduced glutathione and glutathione peroxidase activity were evaluated.

Active cells produce free radicals that, in excess, can cause cell death and apoptosis. To fight these free radicals in the cell cytoplasm, it is necessary to have the help of an enzyme known as glutathione peroxidase.

When resting in the cell, glutathione peroxidase is called reduced glutathione. However, when there is a need to fight free radicals, the reduced glutathione binds to the Selenium available in the cell cytoplasm and becomes glutathione peroxidase.

Reduced glutathione is dependent on Selenium to be activated and fight free radicals in the form of glutathione peroxidase.

The test

Focusing on the action of liver enzymes, 14-week-old female rats (Rattus norvegicus L.), of the Wistar variety, were used for 10 experimental days. Initially, after a 6h fasting period, the animals' body weight was determined and the dose of compounds was calculated. The animals were divided into 10 groups of 7-8 individuals and treated daily orally with the following treatments, so that the intake of if (Selenium) was 0.3ppm/treatment:

  • T1 - Vehicle;
  • T2 – Competitor 1;
  • T3 – Competitor 2;
  • T4 – Yes- Concentrated Selenium;
  • T5 – Yes-Selenium 5,000;
  • T6 – Sodium Selenite;
  • T7 – Competitor 3;
  • T8 – Competitor 4;

Results

In the analysis of the hepatic activity of reduced glutathione (GSH) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) in Wistar rats treated for 10 days with different compounds containing Selenium. The greater the activity of the reduced glutathione and glutathione peroxidase enzymes, it was possible to register a greater protection of the animals.

The statistical analysis of Bonferroni applied with statistical significance of 95% of confidence, proves the efficacy of the products Yes-Selenium Concentrate and Yes-Selenium 5000 presenting superior results to the negative control and to the sodium selenite of the GDH enzyme. Among the competitors evaluated, only one of them presented equivalent results.

These data prove that Yes is a company that really supplies organic Selenium to the market.
