Yes-GOLF, solution from YesSinergy® to stimulate the development of beneficial bacteria in the intestine, it has positive results in the Northeast region

The removal of growth promoters in protein production is a trend that still faces barriers in several parts of Brazil. In the Northeast, a region with large investments in aviaries, Yes, a company that develops biotechnological solutions for effective, safe and sustainable animal nutrition, is working with alternatives that show farmers that it is possible to remove antibiotics and boost production.

One of the bets is with YES-GOLF, a solution that has proven positive results in several states in the Northeast of the country. “We started using Golf in a scenario of bacterial health problem that resulted in low production and poor development of birds in the stages of creates and recreates, with a client who was already undergoing treatment with other products, but without satisfactory results. Only with the use of Golf was it possible to open a door to eradicate this disease”, stresses Augusto Souza, a veterinarian and director of the distribution company Aliança Rural, a Yes partner in Sergipe, Alagoas, Pernambuco, Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte.

The use of YES-GOLF was initiated within a large poultry company in a batch of 40,000 birds, in a core with 400,000 breeders. Now, four years later, the customer is still using the product. “That's because it noticeably reduces the bacterial load at certain stages of production. So, in addition to the results that were obtained at the beginning of the product's use, the technical staff found that the continuous use of the product resulted in a decrease in the use of medications in the squad”.

Poultry farming in the Northeast of Brazil is going through a strengthening process, as a result of both the improvement in the region's economic profile, as well as the increase in protein exports, and YES-GOLF serves this public that invests heavily in health. "Golf is a tool designed to stimulate the development of beneficial bacteria in the intestine of animals, especially Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria, hindering the evolution of pathogenic microorganisms such as salmonellas and AND.coli, and opportunists, like the Clostridium. In addition to favoring the healthy balance of the microbiota, it stimulates the immune system through the Beta Glucans contained in its formula, providing healthier birds to face the sanitary challenges imposed by the intensive production system. All this, combined with good genetics, ambience and management, enhances productive performance and status animal sanitation”, explains the National Poultry Manager at Yes, Matheus Calvo de Paula.

Ensuring performance

Luiz Antônio Nascimento Penna, veterinarian and Commercial representative of Yes in Bahia, has the challenge of expanding the culture of the Bahian poultry farmer so that he allows himself to use new products without antimicrobials, in a region where producers still have a lot of resistance.

In Bahia, the introduction of YES-GOLF was carried out on a property in the region of Conceição da Feira, in a lot with 20 thousand animals. Today, the project already has more than 120 thousand broilers. “Golf is an excellent cost-benefit product, which brings a guaranteed return and profit beyond the amount paid by the breeder. Removing the antibiotic focused on bacteria from the program gram negative, we used the Yes solution and guaranteed a better result than that obtained with antibiotics”, says the veterinarian.

YES-GOLF was used on farms in the pre-starter and initial phases. In the other phases, Penna exemplifies that Glucan-Mos was used – one of the products from Yes's line of microbiota modulators, GutBio. The analysis of the challenges of the farm with the indication of the use of Yes solutions in different phases, brought very satisfactory results to the producer.

During the use of the products, the production efficiency indices (IEP) and the results of feed conversion (CA) and weight gain (GPD) were calculated and evaluated. “We work with the basic conversion and the conversion corrected by age, the latter considering the average and the history of the last four accommodations”, explains the veterinarian. From this compilation, the averages of all lots and accommodations were taken and the comparative average was performed with the result of the conversion of these lots during the closing.

The result found that to produce a kilo of chicken meat, the farm used more than 1,668 kg of feed. With the use of Yes solutions (Golf and Glucan Mos) it was possible to obtain the same quantity and quality of meat while spending less, as consumption was 1.575 kg in conversions corrected by weight. “In other words, the savings with the use of Yes solutions were approximately 93 grams of feed to produce 1 kg of chicken meat”, he explains. “To give you an idea, the inclusion per ton of Golf in the pre-initial phase was 2kg; in the initial phase 1kg and in the first and second phase of fattening and finishing 1 kg of Glucan-Mos”, concludes Penna.

In March, a second integration will present new results, while the third phase of the experiment is scheduled to end in April. “Yes is demonstrably working on the benefits of YES-GOLF and Glucan Mos, with positive results also in farms with different challenges”, concludes the National Poultry Manager, Matheus.
